Welcome advance readers (and people with questions about the process)! This is how you can keep getting free books. If you don't find your answer here, then by all means, send me an email at lylevand@mail.com! I'd love to here from you. :)
The process: 1: I send you a free digital copy of a book 2: You mark/save that email in your inbox for later 3: You read and (hopefully) enjoy the book 4: I send you the link for the buy page on Amazon 5: You leave a review (and buy it, if you'd like - I won't complain!) 6: You copy the link to your review 7: You open the email you saved from step 2, and paste the link to your review as a response 8: Click send I'll put together a quick tutorial on how to leave a review for a book on Amazon below. But before we get to that, you're probably wondering why I want you to send me the link to your review. And why it needs to be in response to the free book email. It's pretty simple, actually. The idea behind this process is to help each other out. I give you free books, you give me honest reviews. I'd love to just give out free books all day, but I can't afford to do that. If you're part of the advance reader group, then you've agreed to leave a review in exchange for those free books. If you don't abide by your half of the bargain, then I can't give you more free books. But, then, why do you need to respond to that specific email? If you respond to that email, I can then easily remove the people who do not do so, without a lot of hassle (making a list of emails who didn't send me a review, going through and removing them from the group one at a time, etc.). Leaving a Book Review on Amazon I'll send you the link for the book, so you won't have to look for it. When you click on it, it should look something like this: Once you've opened the link and see the cover for the book, you need to scroll down until you see this:
Click on this button, and it will take you to another page, where you'll be prompted to give the book a star rating:
Once you've chosen whichever number of stars you think the book deserves, a text box will open up underneath:
You don't need to write anything fancy or long. A line or two is sufficient. I've seen a huge number of "This book was great" and "Don't buy this" as reviews, so no pressure. ;) Once you start typing, more options will appear:
You can add a headline for your review if you choose, or add photos. I'm not sure whether you can skip the headline or not, but if you don't want to write anything special for it, go ahead and just put the first bit of your review in there. Once you're happy with it, just hit submit, and you're done!
If you want to read Amazon's review guidelines, you can do so here. Again, your review doesn't have to be big, or detailed. Just what you liked, what you didn't like, that sort of thing. You can go nuts if you want, I won't complain, but it's not necessary. :) |
